It might seem odd that a small barrier island like Clearwater Beach boasts different experiences on the North and South of the beach. Split by the famed Pier 60 there’s more action to the South. Here you’ll find rows of beach umbrellas and cabanas, hotels, resort and bars as well as the surf rider indoor surfing pool.
Immediately north of the pier it is still pretty busy and lively, but the further north you go the quieter it gets. If you prefer to avoid the crowds then the north side of Clearwater Beach is for you.
You can experience the best of both worlds with the Opal Collection hotels on Clearwater Beach. The North has the Sandpearl, which has been there for may years. It was completely revamped not that long ago and it has everything you might want in the family beach vacation.
Or you can stay at the Opal Sands, a newer hotel at the far south end of Clearwater Beach.
