Spring Break Clearwater Beach

Rated one of the best beach in the US by several different sites and organizations Clearwater Beach is always  a popular destination.  Spring Break is upon us and this year the beach is humming with thousands  of young folk having fun.

Compared to the icy temperatures and snow in the north our balmy weather here in Clearwater Beach is just perfect for Spring Break fun in the sun.  And we’ve been warned to expect record crowds this year.

Officials are on the alert and want to make this week a safe vacation week for everyone , so please heed these rules:

• Alcohol on the beach is illegal.  You can party right on the beach at Shepherd’s Resort or the Hilton. Both have beach bars.
• Swim near a lifeguard station.  There will be extra lifeguards on duty this week to help keep everyone safe in the water.
• Pay attention to the beach warning flags. There is also information on the back of the lifeguard towers.  Read this every day to see what the conditions and warnings are.
• Cross the road at traffic lights and pedestrian crossings.  Jaywalkers will be ticketed

The busiest weekends are expected to be between March 11 – 19.  This year for the first time in decades, thousands of local students are on spring break at the same time.
